The thematic section of the report covers legislative frameworks, including how in successive resolutions on cooperatives in social development, including 74/119, the Assembly has called on Governments to adopt laws or regulations that create an enabling environment for the development of cooperatives and that take into account the values-based identity of cooperatives. General Assembly (GA)
The General Assembly is one of the six main organs of the United Nations, the only one in which all Member States have equal representation: one nation, one vote. All 193 Member States of the United Nations are represented in this unique forum to discuss and work together on a wide array of international issues covered by the UN Charter, such as development, peace and security, international law, etc. In September, all the Members meet in the General Assembly Hall in New York for the annual General Assembly session.

The report provides an analysis of the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on older persons and serves to explore pathways to ensure that older persons are better incorporated into efforts to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic in various policy areas.
