Getting There & Around

Hamad International Airport (DOH) is a world-class hub just 20 minutes from central Doha.
Public transport includes a modern metro system, buses, and trams. Taxis, and ride-hailing apps are also available. Find more information here.
Hayya Permit: All Summit participants are required to have a valid Hayya permit. The Host Country requirements are explained on our website.
Health insurance: Travelers visiting the State of Qatar are recommended to have a valid health insurance policy covering Qatar's medical facilities. Participants with a valid Hayya permit are exempt from purchasing the mandatory health insurance, however, they are welcome to purchase one on arrival in the State of Qatar. Weather | The weather is pleasant and cooler in November. Average temperatures range from 23 to 32 Celsius (73 – 90 Fahrenheit). Temperatures can drop considerably in the evenings. |
Friday timings | All business and commercial activity shuts down during Friday prayers in the morning (around 10am -12pm). Several shops remain closed on Fridays while malls open in the afternoon on Fridays. |
Smoking | Smoking is prohibited in all public spaces including museums, sports clubs, shopping malls and restaurants. Violators can be subject to fines between QAR 1000-3000. |
Dress Code | Modest attire is appreciated for both men and women; shoulders and knees should be covered. |
Tipping | Most hospitality outlets in Qatar include a service charge in the bill. However, a tip of 10-15% as a gesture of satisfaction is appreciated. It is advisable to carry cash for tipping. |
