Food for Thought Paper published

The Co-Facilitators of the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2) has published a Food for Thought paper to inform and inspire discussions in the lead-up to the Summit, which will be held in Doha, Qatar from 4–6 November 2025. The paper was developed based on a wide range of inputs and reflections from Member States, United Nations entities, civil society organizations, academia, and other stakeholders. It builds on the legacy of the 1995 Copenhagen Declaration and Programme of Action, and is framed around current global challenges, including persistent inequalities, demographic shifts, technological change, and climate impacts.

The Food for Thought paper is intended to stimulate inclusive and forward-looking dialogue throughout the preparatory process, including at the 63rd Commission for Social Development (CSocD63) and other intergovernmental and stakeholder meetings. Feedback and ideas generated through these discussions will help shape the vision and outcomes of the 2025 World Social Summit.
