Doha Solutions Platform for Social Development

The Second World Summit for Social Development will adopt the Doha Political Declaration, a collective pledge to reinvigorate multilateralism and accelerate social development that leaves no one behind. Among its aims is a commitment to “advance innovative solutions, and inclusive international cooperation to fully translate the commitments of the Copenhagen Declaration and Programme of Action and social dimension of the 2030 Agenda into concrete actions to achieve social development for all, in particular to the benefit of developing countries.”

In response to this call, the Summit is expected to generate and spotlight an array of new or newly resourced commitments and initiatives by Governments and other stakeholders to address barriers to poverty eradication, full and productive employment and decent work for all, and social integration through innovative and transformative measures.   

To recognize and leverage these commitments and initiatives, the President of the General Assembly, in collaboration with the host country, Qatar, invites Member States and other stakeholders with newly resourced initiatives, partnerships and solutions - both to be announced on the occasion of the Summit and beyond it - to register these commitments and initiatives with the Summit Secretariat.

Commitments and initiatives which demonstrate innovation, high relevance, resource commitment, impact and replicability will be featured on the Doha Solutions Platform for Social Development, a dedicated online repository of commitments and initiatives aimed at advancing social development. The platform will serve as a resource for Governments and other stakeholders to strengthen existing initiatives and inspire and inform new ones. Select commitments will be showcased at the Summit.

To ensure that your submission might be featured on the Platform ahead of the Summit please submit by 22 October 2025.

Submissions received by 7 November 11:59 PM (EST), which meet the criteria, will be considered to have been registered “on the occasion of the Summit”.
