President of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) Annalena Baerbock has issued an invitation for Member States and stakeholders to register new initiatives, partnerships, and solutions with the Secretariat of the Second World Summit for Social Development. Those demonstrating innovation, high relevance, resource commitment, impact, and replicability will be included in a dedicated online repository of commitments and initiatives aimed at advancing social development.

Launched in collaboration with Qatar as the Summit’s host, with France, the Doha Solutions Platform for Social Development is envisioned as a resource for governments and stakeholders “to strengthen existing initiatives and inspire and inform new ones.” The Doha Solutions Forum for Social Development, taking place ahead of the Summit on 3 November 2025, will showcase select commitments – as will dedicated sessions in the Solutions Studio, held during the Summit from 4-6 November.

The Second World Summit for Social Development “marks a pivotal moment to galvanize solidarity, rebuild trust, and chart a renewed path forward for inclusive social development.” It will adopt the Doha Political Declaration, intergovernmentally agreed ahead of the Summit. According to the Summit’s webpage, the Declaration represents “a collective pledge to reinvigorate multilateralism and accelerate social development that leaves no one behind.” It aims to, inter alia,“advance innovative solutions, and inclusive international cooperation to fully translate the commitments of the Copenhagen Declaration and Programme of Action and social dimension of the 2030 Agenda into concrete actions to achieve social development for all, in particular to the benefit of developing countries.”

It is in response to this call that the Summit is expected to generate commitments and initiatives “to address barriers to poverty eradication, full and productive employment and decent work for all, and social integration through innovative and transformative measures.”

For the chance to be featured on the Platform ahead of the Summit, submissions must be received by 22 October 2025. Submissions received by 7 November will be considered to have been registered “on the occasion of the Summit.”
