Official Programme

The Official Programme of the Summit will take place from 4 to 6 November 2025, pursuant to GA resolution 78/318 and decision 79/566. It will include:

Plenary meetings each day, with an opening segment on 4 November featuring the adoption of the Political Declaration and statements by the President of the General Assembly, the Secretary-General, the Amir of Qatar, and the President of ECOSOC.
Two high-level roundtables: one on strengthening the three pillars of social development—poverty eradication, full and productive employment and decent work for all, and social inclusion—and another on assessing progress, addressing gaps, and accelerating implementation of the Copenhagen commitments and the 2030 Agenda.
A closing segment on 6 November with a statement from the President of the General Assembly.

Parallel Programme

Alongside the official sessions, a vibrant Parallel Programme will take place from 3 to 6 November, featuring:

Pre-Summit Day: Before the official opening of the Second World Summit for Social Development, a dedicated Pre-Summit Day will be held on 3 November at the Qatar National Convention Centre. A series of flagship events will convene leaders, governments, civil society, and the private sector to build momentum, showcase innovative solutions, and set the stage for the discussions and commitments of the Summit.
Solutions Sessions organized by Member States, UN system entities, civil society, academia, and the private sector, providing space for dialogue, partnerships, and sharing innovative practices.
The Civil Society Forum, led by the NGO Committee for Social Development in partnership with UN DESA and Qatar, highlighting the voice and contributions of civil society actors.
The Private Sector Forum, co-hosted by the UN Global Compact, UN DESA, and the International Organisation of Employers, showcasing the role of business in advancing inclusive social development.
Solutions Square Exhibitions, an interactive exhibition space where accredited organizations and innovators will display successful initiatives and good practices that address key policy challenges.
Solutions Studio, a dynamic venue for public conversation about the impactful and measurable commitments to social development and social justice being made on the occasion of the Summit. The Studio will feature Solutions Spotlights, to highlight select commitments made and new initiatives announced.
