The side event addressed both positive and negative impacts of digital technologies on families and their well-being with a special focus on new technologies and work-family balance. The event explored the megatrend of new technologies as part of the preparations for the 30th anniversary of the International Year of the Family, 2024. Other trends to be explored in the course of IYF+30 preparations are demographic changes, urbanization, migration and climate change and their impact on families. The event also offered recommendations on family-oriented policies related to new technologies and work-family balance.
