Senior Social Affairs Officer Posting Title: Senior Social Affairs Officer, P5 Job Code Title: SENIOR SOCIAL AFFAIRS OFFICER Department/Office: Department of Economic and Social Affairs Duty Station: New York Posting Period: 09 April 2021 - 23 May 2021 Job Opening Number: 21-Social Affairs-DESA-152085-R-New York (G) This position is located in the Social Policy and Analysis Section (SPAS) of the Global Dialogue for Social Development Branch (GDSDB) of the Division for Inclusive Social Development (DISD), Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA). The Senior Social Affairs Officer will report to the Chief of the Global Dialogue for Social Development Branch. The Branch undertakes substantive functions on social development in the context of follow-up to the World Summit for Social Development (1995) and the 24th Special session of the General Assembly; and promotes the strengthening of, and policy support for, social development for the implementation of development agendas, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This includes organizing and contributing to publications and parliamentary documents; providing substantive support to intergovernmental bodies, such as the Commission for Social Development and the 2nd and 3rd Committees of the General Assembly; and the organization of expert group meetings, seminars and workshops.
