Mainstreaming knowledge on Ageing: “Virtual Roundtable Series”

UNITAR and its 24 International Training Centers for Authorities and Leaders -CIFAL Global Network-, UN DESA, UNFPA, IOM, UN WOMEN, UNHCR, WHO, ITU, and OHCHR, together with the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse; the International Longevity Centre; the Global Initiative on Ageing Foundation, and the NGO Committee on Ageing (Geneva) have joined efforts to put together five Virtual Roundtable Series as a contribution to inclusive learning through enriching dialogues with different stakeholders.

With the title “Bridging paths towards strengthening protection and participation” these events seek to better understand the current scenario on the thematic; learn from some good practices and challenges; identifying the linkages between the rights of older persons and frontier issues; and recognise possible synergies for strengthening the protection as well as promoting the meaningful participation of older persons in their communities.

1. The Human Rights of Older Persons and Frontier Issues: Building capacities for effective protection from multilateral scenarios
