At the Summit of the Future, the UN Inter-Agency Group on Ageing, represented by the Universal Postal Union, urged world leaders to recognize the crucial role older persons play in global development.

With population ageing accelerating globally, especially in developing countries, the Group urged for inclusive, age-responsive policies. They expressed concern over the lack of recognition of older persons in global frameworks like the Pact for the Future and the Global Digital Compact. The Group called for a rights-based, life-course approach to ensure older persons are integral to shaping a sustainable and equitable future.
