International Day of Older Persons 2011
The International Day of Older Persons will be celebrated on 1 October 2011.
The Day will be commemorated on 3 October 2011 in Geneva under the theme of "Active and Healthy Ageing 2012" and on 6 October 2011 in New York under the theme of "Launch of Madrid+10: The Growing Opportunities and Challenges of Global Ageing".

Conference on "The Right to Age: Citizenship, Social Inclusion, and the Political Participation of Older People"
REIACTIS, an international network of research on age, citizenship and socio-economic integration together with the Interregional Gerontology Center (IGC) of Bourgogne Franche-Comté organizes the 4th international scientific conference on The Right to Age: Citizenship, Social Inclusion, and the Political participation of older people. It will take place on 25-27 January 2012 at the Palais des Congrès in Dijon (Burgundy, France). The University of Burgundy together with the University of Franche-Comté are part of the IGC and support this initiative.
