Online Registration

NGOs that are accredited to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) may designate representatives to the annual sessions of the CSocD.

Invitation letters are sent closer to commencement of the session to the e-mail addresses registered in the integrated Civil Society Organizations (iCSO) System of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) by NGOs in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). NGOs are kindly requested to make sure that their profile and contact information on the iCSO system includes the latest updated information about their organizations.

The United Nations does not charge fees for participation in the Commission for Social Development sessions. The United Nations will not pay for any expenses in connection with the participation of NGO representatives in the sessions of CSocD. Such arrangements and costs are the exclusive responsibility of participants.

Please be aware that representatives must individually create an account in the “Indico” online registration system and must individually register for CSocD  If you have registered for CSocD or other conferences previously on Indico, you do not need to create a new account.  Once you have registered for the CSocD, your registration needs to be approved by your organization’s conference focal point via Indico.

When creating my Indico account, I did not receive my verification email.
If the verification email is not in your email inbox, please check your SPAM or Junk email folder. How can I modify my registration?
If your registration is still pending, click “Modify” on top of your registration form in Indico.

If your registration has been approved by the Conference Focal Point of your organization, you cannot modify your registration. Please contact the Conference Focal Point(s) of your organization as he/she will be able to modify your registration on your behalf.

My registration is pending, how can I complete the registration process?
UN DESA is not responsible for approving your CSocD registration. The Conference Focal Point of your organization is responsible for approving your registration. Please contact the Conference Focal Point of your organization and request that they approve your registration on Indico. You might like to share with them these step-by-step instructions for Conference Focal Points. (CSW example).

What is a Conference Focal Point and how can I designate a Conference Focal Point for my organization?
A Conference Focal Point is a member of an NGO in consultative status with ECOSOC who is responsible for verifying registrations of representatives of the organization. They have been designated by their organization to approving pending registrations on the Indico site. Each organization must have one or maximum two Conference Focal Points. If you would like to know how to designate yourself as a Conference Focal Point, please click here (CSW example).

I am a Conference Focal Point of my organization, how do I approve my pending registrations?
As a Conference Focal Point you have access to the management area of the Indico website once you have been designated. Please find a guide on how to approve your registrations here: English | French. (CSW Example)

I am the Conference Focal Point of my organization but my access to the registration management area of Indico is denied.
If you are receiving the following message when you access the registration management area: “ The modification of this event has been restricted by its owner and you are not authorized to use it”, please be advised it can take a few days for your designation to transfer from iCSO to Indico. If you only just designated yourself as a Conference Focal Point on iCSO, please revisit Indico in a few days at which time you should be able to access the registration management area.

Indico will only recognize two Conference Focal Points per organization. Please ensure your organization’s iCSO account lists the one or two persons who you would like as your organization’s Conference Focal Point. If you modify your organization’s iCSO account, please wait a few days for the new Conference Focal Point information to transfer to Indico.

What are the main benefits of registering for the CSocD?

I want to deliver an oral statement in the general discussion/oral intervention in an interactive dialogue.
The sign-up forms to express interest in delivering a statement during the virtual general discussion or to express interest in making an oral intervention will be on the CSocD website.

I need information about my parallel event.
