Achieving SDGs and ending poverty through Universal Social Protection

A webinar on the UNDESA/ILO project “Achieving SDGs and ending poverty through Universal Social Protection” was held on March 18, 2021. Research findings on the governance of social protection systems globally and in selected countries (Argentina, China, Fiji, Kenya, Mauritius) were shared with stakeholders in the project countries of Cambodia and Pakistan in order to provide better technical information for policymaking. Representatives of DESA/DISD and the ILO spoke during the opening about the project and the importance of research, data collection and exchange. After that researchers provided background and details on the global study and the five country case studies and presented their overall findings. That was followed by a Q+A from participants from the two project countries and colleagues from ILO and DESA.
