The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution to convene the Second World Social Summit in Doha, Qatar, from November 4th to 6th, 2025. The summit aims to address the persistent gaps in social development, recommit to the goals outlined in the 1995 Copenhagen Declaration and Programme of Action, and accelerate progress towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The Second World Social Summit is a pivotal moment to reaffirm our dedication to social progress and guarantee that everyone benefits. By working together, we can create a world that is more fair, balanced, and welcoming to all individuals.

The summit will bring together Heads of State and Government from around the world to assess the current state of social development, identify remaining challenges, and agree on concrete actions to eradicate poverty, achieve full and productive employment, and foster social inclusion. The summit will also adopt a concise, action-oriented political declaration to guide future efforts in these areas.

The summit will feature two high-level round tables focused on strengthening the three pillars of social development (poverty eradication, full employment, and social inclusion) and assessing progress and addressing gaps in the implementation of the Copenhagen Declaration and the 2030 Agenda.

The United Nations invites all Member States, specialized agencies, and relevant stakeholders to participate in the summit and contribute to its success.
