Youth to contribute to development through crowd-sourcing platform

An initiative to help ensure that youth priorities are reflected in the UN's development agenda of the post-2015 era is being launched in New York on Tuesday.

A crowd-sourcing platform on the internet will serve as a virtual space for young people to express their views.

Member States of the United Nations are currently defining the sustainable development goals or SDGs which will replace the millennium development goals, the deadline for which is the end of 2015.

It is hoped that young people around the world will contribute to the dialogue on the SDGs through the platform.

Daniel Dickinson has been talking to Ahmed Alhendawi, the UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth about the initiative.
