Report on the follow-up to World Conference on Indigenous Peoples

The Report of the Secretary-General, entitled Progress made in the implementation of the outcome document of the high-level plenary meeting of the General Assembly, known as the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples is now available in all official UN languages.
The report (A/70/84) provides an overview of the implementation of the outcome document of the high-level plenary meeting of the General Assembly known as the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples, held in September 2014 (General Assembly resolution 69/2); an update on the development of a system-wide action plan to ensure a coherent approach to achieving the ends of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples; recommendations on how to use, modify and improve existing United Nations mechanisms to achieve the ends of the Declaration; and specific proposals to enable the participation of indigenous peoples’ representatives and institutions at the United Nations.
