Doha Solutions Platform for Social Development: Turning Commitments into Action

As the world prepares for the Second World Summit for Social Development, to be held from 4 to 6 November 2025 in Doha, Qatar, a key initiative is emerging to transform vision into tangible progress: the Doha Solutions Platform for Social Development.

A Call for Action and Innovation

The Summit will adopt the Doha Political Declaration, a collective pledge to reinvigorate multilateralism and accelerate social development that leaves no one behind. Among its core aims is the commitment to advance innovative solutions and inclusive international cooperation to fully translate the commitments of the Copenhagen Declaration and Programme of Action and the social dimension of the 2030 Agenda into concrete actions to achieve social development for all, in particular to the benefit of developing countries.

In this spirit, the Doha Solutions Platform invites Governments, international organizations, civil society, academia, and the private sector to submit new or newly resourced initiatives, partnerships, and solutions that address barriers to poverty eradication, full and productive employment and decent work for all, and social inclusion through innovative and transformative measures.

Hosted on the official Summit website, the Doha Solutions Platform will serve as a dedicated online repository of commitments and initiatives that exemplify innovation, relevance, resource commitment, impact, and replicability. This living platform aims to inspire collaboration, strengthen existing initiatives, and inform the development of new ones.

Select commitments demonstrating strong potential for transformative impact will be showcased at the Summit and during the Doha Solutions Forum for Social Development, a pre-summit event led by Qatar in collaboration with France on 3 November 2025. Additional solutions will also be featured at the Solutions Studio throughout the Summit.

Criteria for Selection

Initiatives featured on the Doha Solutions Platform will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Relevance to the outcomes of the Summit and alignment with the Copenhagen Declaration, the Doha Political Declaration, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Innovation, including new or significantly enhanced approaches leveraging technology, policy reform, or social innovation.

Resource commitment, ensuring sustainable financing and clearly defined funding plans.

Impact and replicability, with demonstrable potential for measurable results and scalability across contexts.

How to Submit a Commitment

Stakeholders wishing to register their initiatives are invited to complete the online submission form available on the Summit website at: https://social.desa.un.org/world-summit-2025/doha-solutions-platform

Submissions should include details such as the lead implementing and endorsing entities, geographic scope and beneficiaries, a description of objectives, actions, and innovation, evidence of funding or plans for sustainable financing, and the initiative’s potential for measurable impact and replicability.

Timeline 

The deadline for initiatives to be featured on the Platform ahead of the Summit is 22 October 2025. Submissions received by 7 November 2025 at 11:59 PM EST will be considered “on the occasion of the Summit.” Registration will remain open beyond the Summit to sustain global momentum.

All registered commitments that meet the criteria will be publicly accessible on the Platform. Select initiatives will be highlighted in Spotlight Sessions during the pre-summit Forum and at the Solutions Studio during the main Summit.
