Businesses Invited to Engage in the Second World Summit for Social Development
The Second World Summit for Social Development (4–6 November 2025, Doha, Qatar) will bring together governments, civil society, youth, and the private sector to accelerate global action on social development. In the lead-up to this landmark gathering, representatives from business and industry were warmly invited to join a virtual informational session designed to highlight opportunities for private sector engagement.
The session took place on Thursday, 18 September 2025, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. (EST, New York time) via Zoom. Participants received updates on the Summit and learned more about the Private Sector Forum, a dedicated platform for business leaders held on 5 November 2025 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
The Private Sector Forum: A Platform for Action
Co-hosted by the UN Global Compact, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), and the International Organization of Employers (IOE), the Forum provided an unparalleled space for companies to engage directly with governments, international organizations, and civil society.

The briefing showcased concrete ways for enterprises, business associations, and networks to become active contributors to the Summit.
Private sector stakeholders actively took part in this timely exchange, helping to build momentum toward the Summit.
