UN DESA organized a workshop in Lake Naivasha, Kenya, 16-18 November 2021 in collaboration with the Government of Kenya. The workshop was a capacity building exercise aimed at policy makers, civil society representatives and researchers, especially those working on ageing-related issues or in older persons-led organizations and provided a forum for the exchange of experience, latest research and substantive knowledge of ageing policies, mainstreaming older persons in sectoral policies and modalities of the fourth review and appraisal of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing.

The aim of the workshop was to strengthen the capacity of participants to formulate, implement, monitor and review policies for older persons at regional, national and local levels, using various bottom-up methodologies conducive to the participation of older persons.
