The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) is hosting a Global Policy Dialogue on "Making the SDGs Work for and with Persons with Disabilities" on December 17, 2024, from 10:00-11:15 a.m. EST. The event will take place at the SDG Studio at UN Headquarters in New York and online.
This dialogue will focus on the findings of the "UN Disability and Development Report 2024," which highlights the progress and challenges in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for persons with disabilities.
The event will feature keynote remarks, panel discussions with experts, and interactive polls. Participants can join in person or online via Zoom, UN WebTV, and UN DESA’s Facebook Live.
Key points of discussion will include:
- Progress made since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda
- The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on persons with disabilities
- Investments and solutions needed to achieve the SDGs for persons with disabilities by 2030
- Ensuring that persons with disabilities are included in policy discussions
The event will have closed captions in six UN languages and International Sign Language.
