Expert Group Meeting on Parenting/Care, Family-Work Balance, and Family Policies

The Center of Research and Higher Studies in Social Anthropology (Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores en Antropología Social, CIESAS) of Mexico City, in collaboration with the Focal Point on the Family, DISD/UNDESA, held an Expert Group Meeting on “Parenting/Care, Family-Work Balance, and Family Policies” ( Mexico City, 24-25 January 2024). The meeting, organized as part of the preparations for IYF+30 had the relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda as a frame of reference and focused mainly on family policies that promote gender equality, the development of children, youth, status of older adults in families as well as egalitarian intra-family relations, mainly in Latin American countries. The experts analysed policies promoting child and adolescent development; family care services; as well as gender-responsive and age-sensitive family policies that support the conciliation between family and work and overall family well-being.
