Second World Summit for Social Development Solution Session on Integrating Sport Into Social Inclusion Agendas

The Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is pleased to announce that a Solution Session titled 'Policy Meets the Pitch: Integrating Sport into Social Inclusion Agendas' will be hosted during the World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar, on 6 November 2025, from 15:00 to 16:15 in Conference Room 105 (webcast will be available).

This session will bring together key partners, including the Permanent Mission of the Principality of Monaco, the Permanent Mission of Qatar, the United Nations Department of Global Communications, the International Olympic Committee, Peace and Sport, and UN Women.

Speakers will highlight sport-driven initiatives that promote equality, inclusion, and social integration, while also emphasizing the importance of investment in sport as a catalyst for social and economic development.

The session will focus on how to develop and support initiatives, policies, and financing models to scale and sustain low-cost, high-impact sport-based interventions. These initiatives aim to advance social inclusion, integration, mental and physical health, urban development, nutrition, education, and sustainable livelihoods.

All registered Summit participants are invited to attend the session.
