Communities Respond to Flooding in India

When faced with extreme weather events, women in north-east India have learnt to protect their community and themselves. An example of this natural disaster is the flooding in Odisha state that is a constant problem that leads to health problems and disrupts cultivation.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has joined with the local authorities in India to empower these women to not just cope, but benefit from these floods.
