Believe or not, there are 84% of household in rural Myanmar have no electricity connection, creating hardship, perpetuating poverty, and stalling development. In order to help its people to live a better life, the Government of Myanmar, with the help of the World Bank, has developed a national Electrification Plan that calls for universal electricity access by 2030, or 7.2 million new connections.
The World Bank 's International Development Association will fund $400 million in the National electrification Plan, which is expected to bring electricity to over sic million people by 2021 and mobilize further investments.
