YAI's International Conference on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD) is a global gathering on the future of the field and serves as a major forum for the exchange of ideas and information pertaining to programs, policies and strategies that enhance the lives of people with ID/DD.
The theme of the conference this year is "Living Loving Working and Learning". The conference is hosted at the Hilton New York Midtown from 4 to 7 May 2015. It attracts an annual audience of over 2,500 advocates, providers and specialists from throughout the United States and abroad. The event features over 200 presenters exploring critical topic areas such as Ageing, Autism, Family Empowerment, Social Skills and Technology.
Ms. Daniela Bas, Director of DSPD/UNDESA, said that "It is important that we all unite to create inclusive societies in which persons with disabilities can their lives to their fullest potential. Let us unite to create a barrier-free world.
