#PlayforGlobalGoals - PRAXIS

Organization: PRAXIS

Description: The picture shows the two already mentionned volunteers and five of some of the younger inhabitants from the camp, from wich some have already left to Germany. It was taken on the 19th November 2017 by Maris Lepp during one of the many events we participate in or organize. This special event was the annual "Gyros Run" of the City of Serres. It is a tradition of PRAXIS to participate n this marathon as an international team showng of the efforts of working together and how divers a winning team can be. And year after year this effort shows people that despite the fact that you are winning or loosing as a team, it only counts that you went and did something for and with your people.

During our weekly football matches we frequently see how people that didn't have much to say to each other first develop some kind of competitiveness before later evenutally forming deep relationships. The feeing of togetherness that sports can evoke is just one of the many elements we day by day try to employ to create a space where all of the refugees can come and find distraction and a shelter.
