Role of Digital Technologies - Fashion Education

COVID19 has created overall disruption on global development from the local community affecting human personality and wellbeing. Overall, systems are disrupted including socially protection floors on humanity and wellbeing, yet fashion education remains the most paramount foundation for societal progress and recognition of social identity. 

Miss CARICOM International Foundation in its outreach programs in developed and developing countries has utilized the use of mainstream media technology to engage, educate and address some major concerns in these grassroot communities.  Miss CARICOM Foundation has used cell phones and data sharing on social networks to communicate with on the ground workers and resident of those communities in the distribution of essential supplies such as food, masks, and medical supplies.  

This task would be much more complicated and difficult to accomplish without technology and social media, as these regions are less developed and hard to reach. It is through our initiative on “Partnership with Action” that enabled collaborative action to ensure sustainable implementation.  

Digital technologies are electronic tools, systems, devices, and resources that generate, store or process data. Well known examples include social media, online games, multimedia, and mobile phones. Digital learning is any type of learning that uses technology. The use of technology and social media has however given us a glimpse into the future and information as it helps to facilitate the need for continued education and information sharing.  

Fashion has the ability to change and shape lives through its personal connection to us all. We all have to wear clothes and every piece of clothing we buy represents a personal choice – it is this intrinsically human relationship between us and our fashion that makes it political. 

In submission to the objective of the 59th Session of the Commission on Social Development, Miss CARICOM INTERNATIONAL Foundation will work to digitalize and Innovate all-inclusive Fashionuer market by integrating fashion through Innovation technology by training, education and enacting Digital Fashionuer Market Place (DFMP). The DFMP will establish demand towards eradication of poverty, ending hunger and providing quality and inclusive education for digital technology on fashion lifelong learning.
