6th February 2024, CSocD62 Side Event organized by Women’s Health and Education Center (WHEC) with the speakers from World Health Organization (WHO), UNESCO, and other academic institutions. Collecting lessons learned from relevant policy development and sharing them in a global forum can boost further international collaboration in several inter-connected areas. Education and Health through inter-governmental cooperation programs strengthens international collaboration. It is the sharing and collaboration that secures increased transparency, reproducibility and credibility of evidence-based knowledge. All these are of paramount importance to every country.
Discussion included inclusion and equity in and through education sector – which is the cornerstone of a transformative education agenda. Access – especially in the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and reducing digital divide and lessons learned, which a significant achievement of our initiatives were presented. Our commitment to supporting gender-sensitive policies, planning and learning environments; mainstreaming gender issues in teacher training and curricula; and eliminating gender-based discrimination and violence in schools, were highlighted. Our resources and continuing education projects in health and education sectors ensures quality education, which fosters creativity and knowledge, and ensures the acquisition of foundational skills of literacy and numeracy as well as analytical skills, problem solving, and other high-level cognitive, interpersonal and social skills.
We commit to promoting quality education and health learning services and encourage opportunities for all, in all settings and at all levels of education. We recognize that the success of the Education & health projects and programs require sound policies and planning as well as efficient implementation and arrangements. We welcome everyone!
