Information Session to Member States on the logistical preparations for the Summit

The Office of the President of the General Assembly convened an information session for Member States on the logistical preparations for the forthcoming “World Social Summit” under the title “Second World Summit on Social Development” to be held in Qatar from 4-6 November 2025. The session was moderated by the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM). H.E. Alya Ahmed Saif Al-Thani, Permanent Representative of Qatar, and H.E. Mubarak Al-Kuwari, Executive Director, Permanent Committee for Organizing Conferences, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made welcoming remarks. Ms. Maha Al-Kuwari, Project Lead, Permanent Committee for Organizing Conferences, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided information on the venue of the summit, funding arrangements and other provisions for delegates, including information on accommodation, local transportation and host country requirements. The Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) provided a brief update by the United Nations Secretariat on the logistical preparations, including on special accreditation and registrations, parallel events and activities, outreach and communication. The official logo of the Summit was unveiled at the event.
In the subsequent Q&A session, the panel answered questions from delegations related to registration, travel, hosting arrangements, official programme and parallel events.
