1:30 - 2:00 p.m.: Multimedia presentation - “Protecting and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities through advocacy efforts on the Convention for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Convention on Cluster Munitions: experience, perspectives and tools from the field.” With video messages from Ambassador Don MacKay of New Zealand (former Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee) and Ken Rutherford (co-founder of Survivor Corps, formerly the Landmine Survivors Network) discussing the linkages between the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRDP) and the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM), on the occasion of the opening for signature of the CCM in Oslo, which also took place on 3 December 2008. Organized by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) in the Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.Venue: Conference Room 4.

12:00 - 2:30 p.m.: Musical performances - Hungarian pianist Tamas Erdi will perform classical masterpieces. Mr. Erdi has played with the Iceland Symphony, the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hungarian National Orchestra, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Australian band, Rudely Interrupted are one of Australia’s truly remarkable indie rock bands. With the participations of the Ambassadors H.E.M. Gábor Bródi of Hungary, H.E.M. Robert Hill of Australia, Mr. Lee Grossman (President and CEO of Autism Society of America) and Mr. Jon Colman (President of National Down Syndrome Society) . Co-organized by the Permanent Missions of Australia and Hungary, in cooperation with the Secretariat for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities/DESA. Venue: Dag Hammarskjold Library Auditorium.
