15th session of the CRPD Committee begins

DESA-Enable_4496R2_Oct12The Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities began its 15th session on 29 March that will continue up to 21 April 2016 in Geneva, Switzerland. During this session, the Committee will examine the initial reports of Chile, Lithuania, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Thailand and Uganda, as well as the list of issues of Bolivia and Guatemala. It will also adopt a general comment on article 6 - women and girls with disabilities and continue making progress in the drafting of a general comment on the right to inclusive education. On 19 April, the Committee will hold a day of general discussion on the right to live independently and being included in the community.
