Checklist for the inclusion of Older Persons in COVID-19 Socio-economic Response Plans (SERPs)

A checklist of potential actions, tools and resources, issued by the Inter-Agency Group on Ageing, was designed in line with the UN Secretary General’s policy brief The Impact of COVID-19 on Older Persons, to help countries tackle the devastating social and economic dimensions of the pandemic, with a focus on older persons as a priority group.

Covid Family Life Study There is no question that though health workers have been in the frontline of dealing with Covid-19, all of us have been seeing action on the “Home Front” during the pandemic. Especially families, where parents have been managing the care and education of children while juggling the new demands of working from home and concerns for older relatives. The impact on families and on the physical and mental health of parents has been the source of much anecdotal comment and speculation.

Digital Inclusion of Older Persons: Harnessing digital technologies to promote the inclusion and well-being of older persons

Highlighting the importance of older persons, the World Summit on the Information Society Forum in 2020, for the first time, has dedicated a special track to older persons and ICTs. Technological advances are becoming entrenched in many aspects of our societies and hold the potential to create opportunities towards an inclusive and sustainable development and provide tools to surmount the challenges faced by many to fully participate in the development process.
