The meeting was organized by the Division for Social Policy and Development, Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and hosted by the Government of Austria.
The objective was to identify obstacles to national level implementation of the Plan of Action; to produce guidelines to mainstream the issue of ageing into national development agendas; to contribute to the development of a technical assistance programme for national capacity building for the implementation and follow-up of the Plan of Action; and, to identify pilot countries for capacity building and training as a follow up to the Meeting.
