Report of the Fifth Session of the Open-ended Working Group on Ageing

The Open-Ended Working Group on Ageing (OEWGA) was established by the General Assembly on December 2010. The working group focuses on strengthening the protection of the human rights of older persons, by considering the existing international framework of the human rights of older persons and identifying possible gaps and how best to address them, including by considering, as appropriate, the feasibility of further instruments and measures



The report of the fifth session (New York, 30 July to 1 August 2014) highlights summaries of the three panel discussions on the human rights and care of older persons, violence and abuse against older persons and planning for end-of-life care: legal and financial issues. The report also includes the Chair's summary of the key points of the discussions.
