The Chair of the Permanent Forum, Ms. Megan Davis, was in Geneva from 20 to 24 July 2015 to attend the annual session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. On Monday, 20 July, Ms. Davis attended the opening session and delivered a statement under Agenda item 3 on Follow up to the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples including the review of the mandate of the Expert Mechanism. She also delivered a statement under the Agenda item 8 on the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. While in Geneva, Ms. Davis also held meetings with relevant UN agencies, funds and programmes as well as with UN treaty monitoring bodies, including the Committee on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women. The Permanent Forum, the Expert Mechanism and the Special Rapporteur (the three UN mechanisms with a specific mandate on Indigenous Peoples) also met to provide updates on and to coordinate their work.
