UNESCO call for Int. Year of Indigenous Languages 2019

With reference to the organization of the 2019 International Year of Indigenous Languages, UNESCO together with a range of different partners prepared an Action Plan which will be presented at the upcoming 17th session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues on 16 April 2018. One of the proposed working modalities is an establishment of a Steering Committee which would include representations of regional socio-cultural groups of Indigenous Peoples, interested Member States, representatives of three party UN mechanism including the UNPFII, The Special Rapporteur and EMRIP, as well as UN agencies.
