International Day of Older Persons 2011
The International Day of Older Persons will be celebrated on 1 October 2011.
The Day will be commemorated on 3 October 2011 in Geneva under the theme of "Active and Healthy Ageing 2012" and on 6 October 2011 in New York under the theme of "Launch of Madrid+10: The Growing Opportunities and Challenges of Global Ageing".
New web-site of the UN Programme on Ageing
The newly designed web-site provides information about global demographic ageing and older persons around the world as well as a variety of ageing-related UN documents, publications, events and meetings.
